Community Outreach

Student ScholarshipsEach year Vancouver Branch offers scholarships to students at WSU-Vancouver and Clark College.

Young Women in Action (YWIA)Diana Mendoza, a YWIA student at Roosevelt ElementaryOur branch provides mentors to an on-going 9-week after school program for Fifth Grade Girls in three elementary schools. The program focuses on development of life skills such as friendship, health and personal care and career opportunities.

Exciting New OptionsENO is a program in collaboration with Clark College that introduces girls between 7th and 10th grades to careers with a foundation in math, science, and technology. Vancouver Branch continues to support this.
Women in PrisonIn collaboration with the YWCA, we collect clothing for women prisoners in Vancouver.
Christmas Family AdoptionThrough SHARE, we adopt a female head of household family and purchase Christmas gifts for them.
Volunteer ActivitiesVancouver Branch members are also involved in Elderhostel, Mature Learning at Clark College, the YWCA, the Portland Art Museum, Friends of the Library (various branch libraries), Career Conference for Young Women, Women's Conference at Clark College, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Conversation Circles for Immigrants, National Alliance for Mental Illness, the Clark County Historical Society, the the Clark County Genealogical Society, and much more.
